EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the remarkable Water thick-knee, a member of the stone curlew family found in tropical Africa. With its large, amber-colored eyes that provide excellent night vision, this bird is well-adapted to its nocturnal lifestyle. The Water thick-knee can be spotted in stony wastelands across its habitat. Both male and female Water thick-knees possess a yellow-brown plumage that effectively camouflages them amidst their surroundings.
