Soviet Katyusha rocket launchers, 1943

At this stage in the war, the USSR was fighting German forces and slowly winning the struggle to repel the German invasion. Katyushas were a type of multiple rocket launcher developed by the USSR before and during World War II. Compared to normal artillery, these launchers were more mobile, and though less accurate could still saturate an area with explosives and then redeploy elsewhere
