When these minuscule particles land on the stigma of a flower belonging to the same species, they initiate an extraordinary process. Germination occurs, and from within the pollen grain emerges a delicate tube known as a pollen tube. Intriguingly, this microscopic tube grows downwards towards the ovaries of the flower. Once it reaches its destination, fertilization takes place by uniting with ovules present in these ovaries. This union ultimately leads to seed formation.
