This print showcases the SAGE station and light gun, which are on display at the prestigious Computer History Museum in the United States. The SAGE system, short for semi-automatic ground environment, was implemented in 1963 as a revolutionary method of visualizing radar information. At its core, this technology employed a remarkable light gun that enabled the individual aircraft's critical data such as speed and altitude to be displayed. The Computer History Museum boasts an extensive collection of more than 3000 artifacts spanning from 1945 to 1990. Since its establishment in 1996, this remarkable institution has been dedicated to preserving and restoring computers that have played a significant role in shaping history. Notably, it focuses on returning these machines to working order so visitors can truly appreciate their impact. Excitingly, this renowned museum is set to relocate and become part of the NASA Research Park located in California's Silicon Valley. This move will undoubtedly enhance its mission of promoting science education and celebrating computing history. In collaboration with Science Photo Library, this stunning image captures not only the technological marvels housed within the museum but also highlights America's rich heritage in innovation and scientific advancement. It serves as a testament to humanity's relentless pursuit of progress while honoring those who paved the way for our modern digital age.
