Nodakenetin drug
Nodakenetin drug, molecular model. Nodakenetin belongs to the furocoumarin family of compounds, being similar in structure to psoralen, angelicin and bergapten, used to treat the skin disease psoriasis. It is found naturally in a range of plants, including Lomatium dissectum, a herb native to western North America. This herb was used by Native Americans and early American medical practitioners to treat a variety of complaints; it is thought that nodakenetin conferred an antiviral property to the herb, but the mechanism is unknown. Atoms in this model are represented by coloured rods; carbon is blue, hydrogen is white and oxygen is green
