Leonardos most famous works of art are the Last Supper (1498) painted on the wall of the refectory of Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Mona Lisa (c.1504) in oils on canvas now at the Louvre, Paris. His sketch books were filled with remarkable drawings and designs for flying machines (ornithopters and helicopters), bridges and a tank-like carriage. He was also a gifted illustrator in anatomy and biology
