Hubble view of Saturn
Saturn. Coloured Hubble Space Telescope image of the planet Saturn and its rings. This image was taken by the Near Infrared Camera and Multi- Object Spectrometer (NICMOS), and shows reflected infrared light from the planets clouds. The blue areas show clouds low in the atmosphere, while the yellow and orange areas represent high clouds. The rings comprise a sheet of icy rocks orbiting around the equator of Saturn. Saturn itself is a ball of gas with its gaseous surface forming turbulent cloud bands. Two of Saturns moons are visible as dots: Dione (yellow, lower left), and Tethys (green, upper right edge of Saturns disc)

EDITORS COMMENTS
This breathtaking print captures the mesmerizing beauty of Saturn, showcasing its majestic rings and swirling cloud bands. Taken by the powerful Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) aboard the Hubble Space Telescope, this coloured image reveals a stunning perspective of our neighboring planet. The vibrant blue hues in the lower atmosphere depict low-lying clouds, while shades of yellow and orange represent higher altitude cloud formations. These ethereal clouds add an enchanting touch to Saturn's already captivating appearance. The rings, composed of countless icy rocks orbiting around Saturn's equator, create a celestial spectacle that is truly awe-inspiring. As we gaze at this extraordinary photograph, two of Saturn's moons grace us with their presence as small dots against the vastness of space. Dione can be seen in a radiant yellow shade towards the lower left corner, while Tethys appears as a delicate green dot near the upper right edge of Saturn's disc. This remarkable image not only showcases the immense beauty found within our universe but also serves as a testament to humanity's insatiable curiosity about distant worlds. It reminds us that there is so much more waiting to be discovered beyond our own planet Earth.
