Bubble nebula and surrounding nebulae

Bubble nebula (NGC 7635) with surrounding nebulosity. North is at top. The Bubble itself is in the bright orange patch just left of centre, just left of the bright blue star. It is a 10 light year wide shell of gas that has been excavated by a powerful star within it. The Bubble nebula lies around 11, 000 light years from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia. At upper left, above and left of the Bubble in line with it and the bright star, is the dense open star cluster M52. This cluster is some 5000 light years away, also in Cassiopeia. Photographed by the 1.22-metre Oschin Telescope at Mount Palomar Observatory, California, USA

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the mesmerizing beauty of the Bubble Nebula and its surrounding nebulae. Positioned at the top, with North as its orientation, this image allows us to marvel at the wonders of our universe. The Bubble Nebula itself is prominently displayed in a vibrant orange hue, slightly left of center and adjacent to a brilliant blue star. Spanning an impressive width of 10 light years, this gas shell has been sculpted by the immense power emitted from a star within it. Located approximately 11,000 light years away from Earth in the constellation Cassiopeia, the Bubble Nebula is accompanied by other celestial features that add to its allure. Towards the upper left corner lies M52, a dense open star cluster situated around 5,000 light years away in Cassiopeia as well. Captured by the renowned 1.22-meter Oschin Telescope at Mount Palomar Observatory in California, USA; this photograph offers us an extraordinary glimpse into distant galaxies and cosmic phenomena. Its intricate details highlight various elements such as stars being born within nebulosity and emission nebulae illuminating vast regions of space. With its scientific significance and aesthetic appeal combined seamlessly together, this stunning image serves as a testament to humanity's relentless pursuit of knowledge about our vast cosmos.
