The Brahin meteorite is a type of stony iron meteorite called a Pallasite, originating in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It consists of an alloy (silver colour) of iron and nickel, and rock crystals (brown) of olivine. The sample, which is 5.5 by 4.3 centimetres, has been lacquered to avoid rusting.
