Aksel Berg, Soviet engineer
Aksel Berg (1893-1979), Soviet engineer and cyberneticist, at his country house. Berg was of Finnish descent, but after the death of his father in 1904, he entered the Russian Navy and worked as research engineer. He is best known for his work on radar, but is also considered the founding father of Soviet cybernetics. He was a Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, and reached the rank of Admiral in the navy.
