Golf in Northern Ireland, LMS poster
Poster produced for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail links to Portrush, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, showing a view of the golf course. This is one of a series of posters commissioned to illustrate the many different sports and pastimes that could be enjoyed within the area covered by the LMS. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson, who studied art at Portsmouth and Southsea Schools of Art. A famous marine painter, he designed posters for the London & North Western Railway (LNWR), the London & Midlands Railway (LMR) and Southern Railway (SR) and organised the Royal Academy series of posters for the LMR in 1924. Greenisland Viaducts, LMS poster, 1923-1947
Poster produced for London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to advertise the Greenisland Loop Line in Country Atrim, Northern Ireland. The Greenisland Loop Line, which opened in 1934, was constructed to eliminate the necessity of trains to and from Belfast and stations in the North running via Greenisland. The line was approximately 3 miles in length. The Main Line Viaduct was the largest reinforced concrete viaduct in the British Isles. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson, who studied art at Portsmouth and Southsea Schools of Art. A famous marine painter, he designed posters for several railways and organised the Royal Academy series of posters for the London & Midlands Railway (LMR) in 1924

Launch of TSS Duke of York, LMS poster, 1935
Poster produced for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote services to the launch of the TSS Duke of York at the Queen's Island shipyard, Belfast, Northern Ireland. This steamer was built by Harland and Wolff and was launched by the LMS on 7 March 1935, for operation on the Heysham to Belfast route. It became a troop transport vessel during WWII and was involved in the Dieppe raid of August 1942. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson (1878-1971), who studied art at Portsmouth and Southsea Schools of Art. A famous marine painter, he designed posters for the London & North Western Railway (LNWR), the London & Midlands Railway (LMR) and Southern Railway (SR). Dimensions: 1016 mm x 1270 mm
