Jacob Rees- Mogg, aged 12.
Picture shows a young Jacob Rees- Mogg, one of Britians youngest shareholders. He is pictured at home, making a lone public stand against the giant General Electric Company.
Twelve year old Jacob Rees-Mogg hit out at the companys yearly dividend as " pathetic" at its annual meeting in London. The 2, 000 million pounds firm is paying shareholders less than 15p a share out of 476 million pounds profits with 54.5p a share. Jacob is son of former editor of The times, Sir William Rees-Mogg, said GEC could easily afford 30p a share. When Daily Mirror photographer Julian Brown asked for his picture, Jacob demanded 25 pounds.

Jacob Rees-Mogg, aged 12 - A Young Shareholder's Stand Against Corporate Giants

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this print from 1981, we catch a glimpse of a young Jacob Rees-Mogg, already displaying the determination and conviction that would later define his political career. At just twelve years old, he fearlessly took on the mighty General Electric Company during their annual meeting in London. With an unwavering voice, Jacob criticized GEC's meager yearly dividend as "pathetic" arguing that shareholders deserved better. The son of esteemed former editor Sir William Rees-Mogg believed that the company could easily afford to pay out at least 30p per share instead of the paltry 15p they offered. Captured by renowned photographer Julian Brown for the Daily Mirror, this image showcases Jacob's early understanding of financial matters and his willingness to stand up for what he believed was right. It is evident even at this tender age that he possessed a sharp mind and an unyielding commitment to fairness. Today, Jacob Rees-Mogg continues to make waves in British politics as the Conservative MP for North East Somerset. This photograph serves as a testament to his lifelong dedication to public service and his unwavering principles. As we look back on this moment from memory lane, it reminds us all that even the youngest among us can have a profound impact when they dare to speak truth to power.
