Ex-England Captain Bobby Moore has lost his place, not only as England Captain but the place in Madame Tussauds where he has stood since England won the World Cup in 1966. He has been taken to the Madame Tussauds store room at Wookey Hole, Somerset, where his head will be stored alongside other famous heads which have been moved onto the shelf. Bill Johnson, the store keeper at Wookey, places Bobbys head alongside his old England team mate Nobby Stiles. 8th November 1974

Ex-England Captain Bobby Moore: A Waxwork's Journey Through Time". In this photo print, we witness the bittersweet fate of ex-England Captain Bobby Moore. Not only has he lost his prestigious position as England Captain, but also his place in the iconic Madame Tussauds museum since England's triumphant World Cup victory in 1966. The year is 1974, and a new chapter begins for this waxen representation of a football legend. Transported to the depths of Wookey Hole, Somerset, Moore finds himself amidst other famous heads that have been relegated to storage. This photograph captures not only an intriguing moment in history but also reflects on the transience of glory and public adoration. As time marches forward and new heroes emerge on the football field, even legends like Bobby Moore must make way for change. George Phillips masterfully immortalizes this poignant scene through his lens.
