These two guides notched up a glorious success in a strange setting when they were presented with Baden Powell Trefoil Awards on the log flume at Alton Towers. Julia Hargreaves and Kathy James, both aged 15, decided to splash out on their award ceremony, when they were able to choose where they wanted the presentations to be made. Both girls attend Honley High School and are guides with the 1st Holme Valley company in Honley. Their former guide leader Mrs Ann Taylor, was on hand in the log to make the aquatic presentation. 28th October 1987
