Mrs Rita Manchester receives a loaf of bread from six-year old Angela Chapman after a harvest-style concert held to mark her retirement from St Patricks RC Junior and Infants School, Dalton, where she has been a lunchtime supervisory assistant for 11 years. Mrs Manchester, 62, of Meltham, has worked in schools for 30 years. Before joining St Patrick s, she was cook-in-charge at Woodhouse Infants School for four years and cook at Colne Valley High for six. She also worked part-time as an assistant inn the Colne Valley kitchen. The St Patrick pupils presented her with many gifts, including a crystal vase, china dish and planter. She received a figurine and theatre tickets from colleagues. 16th October 1991
