EDITORS COMMENTS
Helping other children. . . these three Highburton youngsters decided to make a difference by raising some charity cash after being inspired by the selfless acts of others. David and Elizabeth Shaw, along with their dear friend Anna Whitehead, put their hearts into action and managed to raise an impressive £8.35 for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. With determination in their eyes and kindness in their souls, they baked delicious biscuits and sold some of their beloved toys. In this heartwarming print captured on September 18th, 1990, we see these young heroes proudly holding up their charity cheque. From left to right, eight-year-old Anna beams with joy as she stands beside six-year-old David and eight-year-old Elizabeth. Their smiles radiate pure happiness as they realize the impact they have made on the lives of other children. This snapshot from the 1990s captures not only a moment frozen in time but also serves as a reminder that even at such tender ages, children possess immense compassion and empathy for those less fortunate. These remarkable individuals are proof that small actions can create significant change when driven by love and generosity. As we admire this photograph today, let it inspire us all to follow in the footsteps of these incredible youngsters - reminding us that no act of kindness is ever too small or insignificant.
