The dog with a waggiest tail, the friendliest face and best legs went on show at Greenhead Park today for the annual Exemption Dog Show. Among them was 10 year old Nicola Cross and poodle Trixie with her friend, Jennifer Hall. For the more serious dog owners there were pedigree, obedience and junior handling classes and for those without a canine chum a pet show. The show is organized by the West Yorkshire branch of Pro Dogs, a charity aiming to promote responsible dog ownership, and the childrens pet show is run by Kirklees Leisure Services. 3rd August 1985

EDITORS COMMENTS
The annual Exemption Dog Show at Greenhead Park was a delightful spectacle of wagging tails, friendly faces, and impressive legs. Among the many adorable canines on display, one stood out as the epitome of charm – Trixie the poodle. Accompanied by her devoted friend Jennifer Hall, 10-year-old Nicola Cross proudly showcased Trixie's endearing qualities. While some dog owners took part in serious competitions such as pedigree, obedience, and junior handling classes, others without furry companions joined in the fun with a pet show. This vibrant event was organized by Pro Dogs, a West Yorkshire charity dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership. Additionally, Kirklees Leisure Services ran an exciting children's pet show that added an extra layer of excitement for young animal enthusiasts. The photograph captures a moment frozen in time from August 3rd, 1985 – an era characterized by its carefree spirit and love for pets. The image serves as a nostalgic reminder of the joyous bond between humans and their four-legged friends during this period. This print is not affiliated with any commercial entity but rather represents a treasured memory from Memory Lane Prints' collection. It encapsulates the essence of childhood innocence intertwined with our enduring connection to animals.
