Dressed for the occasion- stallholders at Slaithwaithe Elizabethan fair
Dressed for the occasion- stallholders at Slaithwaithe Elizabethan fair. The event was the first carnival to be held in Slaithwaithe for several years, but it is hoped it will now be an annual event. About 150 people joined the procession, which included horse drawn floats, and the Slaithwaithe Guisers giant, Nathandriel. Displays were given by Marsden Pride Morris Dancers and Kirkburton Rapier Dancers. Other attractions included a pillory, Elizabethan style games and stalls. About £ 100 was raised for Slaithwaithe Community Association, which organized the event. Stallholders representing charities kept their profits for their own funds. 5th July 1986
