Ahoy there! Kris Hodgkyns (left) and John Steventon take to a life on the ocean wave
Ahoy there! Kris Hodgkyns (left) and John Steventon take to a life on the ocean wave, thanks to a new playboat belonging to Holmfirth WRVS Toy Library. The boat - being tried by Kris and John under the watchful eye of WRVS members - has been provided by the toy library own support group of mothers, who have worked six months to buy it. The library has also bought a special swing seat with the help of a donation from WRVS members who work at tea bars in Huddersfield Crown and Magistrates courts. The swing is for use by the handicapped. 1st May 1986

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we see Kris Hodgkyns and John Steventon embarking on a thrilling adventure as they take to the open sea. Thanks to the generosity of Holmfirth WRVS Toy Library's support group of dedicated mothers, these young boys now have access to a brand new playboat. The boat, lovingly provided by the support group after six months of hard work and fundraising, is sure to bring endless joy and excitement to children in the community. Under the watchful eye of WRVS members, Kris and John test out their newfound vessel with sheer delight. This moment captures not only their pure happiness but also highlights the incredible efforts made by those who believe in creating opportunities for children's play and exploration. But that's not all! The toy library has gone above and beyond by purchasing a special swing seat for handicapped individuals. This thoughtful addition was made possible through a generous donation from WRVS members working at tea bars in Huddersfield Crown and Magistrates courts. This photograph takes us back to May 1st, 1986 - an era filled with innocence, imagination, and community spirit. It serves as a reminder that small acts of kindness can make a significant impact on young lives.
