For 10 years, two beautifully painted Easter eggs have given pensioner Elsie Whitby a lot of pleasure. The eggs, decorated with scenes of the Crucifixion, were given by a former colleague of her late husband Arthur. They had been hand painted by North pitman Jack Craig. 14th April 1987
