EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photo print, we witness the proud moment as two Shelley cubs receive their well-deserved gold arrow awards. Matthew Hall, 11 years old and positioned on the right side of the frame, stands tall with a beaming smile that reflects his accomplishment. Standing beside him is Louis Stokes, a talented 10-year-old from the same pack at Shelley First School. Both Matthew and Louis are students at Kirkburton Middle School, showcasing their commitment to balancing academics and extracurricular activities. To earn these prestigious awards, they participated in various engaging tasks such as kite-making and three climbing. However, their dedication extended beyond these activities alone. Matthew's passion for sports shone through as he not only played football and rugby but also demonstrated his spiritual side by writing heartfelt prayers. On the other hand, Louis showcased his creative flair by designing an eye-catching poster while simultaneously completing an impressive history project. This snapshot captures a significant moment in time - February 21st, 1991 - reminding us of the timeless essence of childhood achievements. As we delve into "all our yesterdays" it serves as a reminder of the determination and talent exhibited by young individuals like Matthew and Louis during their school days.
