EDITORS COMMENTS
Cinderella and the Ugly Sisters brought a touch of enchantment to the students of Huddersfields Highfield School. In a delightful pantomime performance, fourth-year pupils from St Patricks Primary School, Birkby, took center stage under the guidance of their talented director, Mr M Dickenson. The show featured not only an impressive cast but also showcased the incredible talents of the school choir and orchestra. The production had already captivated parents at its premiere for St Patricks pupils before it graced Highfield School with its magical presence. Annemarie Bradley shone as Cinderella while Michelle Haigh and Amanda McCormack hilariously portrayed the larger-than-life Ugly Sisters. Their vibrant characters were brought to life through stunning costumes and expertly applied makeup. This special visit was part of an exchange program aimed at fostering stronger connections between these two remarkable schools. Headmaster Mr C Jackson expressed his excitement about this collaboration, recognizing its potential to enhance education and create lasting bonds within their community. This photograph captures a moment frozen in time—a testament to the power of theater in shaping young minds and bringing joy to all who witness it. It serves as a reminder that traditions like pantomime continue to thrive within educational settings, leaving an indelible mark on both performers and audience members alike.
