EDITORS COMMENTS
High Dawn in the West (Minster): This print captures a remarkable scene on Westminster Bridge at the break of dawn. A group of twelve skilled cowboys and saloon girls gathered to create an exhilarating High Dawn spectacle before the city's hustle and bustle took over. These talented individuals are none other than sharpshooters, stuntmen, and performers from Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, set to open its doors at Wembley in just a few days' time. In this picture, you'll notice that all the people involved are Americans, adding an authentic touch to their portrayal of the Wild West era. The magnificent horses pulling the iconic 'Wells Fargo' coach were also imported from America. Notably, two expert gunmen stand out among them; Phil Spangenberger from California dons a white hat as he provides genuine commentary on the wild west while Dean Dawson, hailing from Texas and dressed in darker attire, serves as Dennis Weaver's understudy for the popular TV series 'McCloud. ' This nostalgic image was captured on July 24th, 1978 – a true representation of American cowboy culture amidst London's historic landmarks such as Big Ben and Westminster Bridge. Relive this thrilling moment from Memory Lane Prints.
