The Moulders Arms pictured in May, 1971. *IT HAS been really interesting reading the letters about old Cardiff. I was born in 13 Park Street (Temperance Town) in 1937. We later moved to Union Street off Bridge Street and between Charles Street and Frederick Street. Union Street is very seldom mentioned in readers letters but it was a lovely, friendly and neighbourly street. I was one of nine children and we had wonderful parents. We had a bakers called Coxs and the Moulders Arms pub. Also the garage Morsmith Motors and a small grocers owned by a Mrs Beans and an off-licence run by Mr Cummings

EDITORS COMMENTS
"The Moulders Arms pictured in May, 1971. This print takes us back to a bygone era, offering a glimpse into the vibrant streets of Cardiff in the early 1970s. The image showcases The Moulders Arms pub, an iconic establishment that held countless memories for locals and visitors alike. But beyond the pub's charm lies a tale of community and camaraderie on Union Street. Often overlooked in readers' letters about old Cardiff, this street was home to tight-knit neighbors who formed lasting bonds. It was here that the author of this letter grew up with their eight siblings, surrounded by love and warmth from their wonderful parents. Union Street boasted more than just residential homes; it housed various businesses that were integral to daily life. Cox's bakers filled the air with tantalizing aromas while Morsmith Motors garage catered to automotive needs. Mrs Beans' small grocers provided essentials, and Mr Cummings ran an off-licence store where locals could find their favorite beverages. As we delve into these nostalgic recollections through Memory Lane Prints, we are reminded of how communities thrive when people come together as friends and neighbors. This photograph encapsulates not only the physical structures but also the intangible spirit that made Union Street such a special place during those times" (Word count: 200)
