City players went back to their childhood today... to prove they really are Sky Blues
City players went back to their childhood today...to prove they really are Sky Blues Babes. They posed for photographers wearing, wearing, wait for it...nappies and shower caps. And they seem to enjoy it! It was all part of a publicity scheme devised by City management, and manager Gordon Milne acted as " nanny" with a giant milk bottle for teenagers Steve Murcott, David Barnes, Danny Thomas, Steve Whitton, Gary Bannister, Andy Blair, Paul Dyson, Tom english, Gary Gillespie, Mark Hately and Garry Thompson. All except Barnes have first-team experience and was Citys way of telling the national public they have a bright future.

City Players Reveal Their Playful Side - Sky Blues Babes Embrace Childhood Memories
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In a delightful and unexpected twist, the City players took a trip down memory lane today, proving that they truly are Sky Blues at heart. With infectious laughter and an undeniable sense of camaraderie, they fearlessly donned nappies and shower caps for an unforgettable photoshoot. This whimsical display was all part of a clever publicity scheme devised by the ingenious City management. Manager Gordon Milne stepped into the role of "nanny" playfully wielding a giant milk bottle as he guided his teenage protégés through this playful escapade. Amongst them were talented individuals such as Steve Murcott, David Barnes, Danny Thomas, Steve Whitton, Gary Bannister, Andy Blair, Paul Dyson, Tom English, Gary Gillespie, Mark Hately and Garry Thompson – each one possessing immense potential in their own right. While most of these budding stars had already tasted first-team experience on the pitch before this lighthearted affair unfolded; it served as Coventry City's way to showcase their bright future to the nation. The genuine joy radiating from their faces proved that even professional footballers can embrace childlike innocence when given the chance. This snapshot captured by Bob Cole in 1979 immortalizes not only a moment of pure fun but also highlights how sport can bring out our inner child no matter our age or achievements.
