EDITORS COMMENTS
The Beatles in Bangor Wales: A Bittersweet Retreat". In this photo print, we are transported back to the summer of 1967 when The Beatles embarked on a transformative journey to Bangor, Wales. Their purpose? To immerse themselves in a 10-day conference on Transcendental Meditation led by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Little did they know that their stay would be marred by an unexpected tragedy. Captured within the frame is the iconic band, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They stand amidst a sea of adoring fans and curious onlookers outside Dyfrdwy dormitories at Bangor University's Hugh Owen Building. The excitement surrounding their presence is palpable. However, just two days into their retreat, devastating news reached them - the untimely death of their beloved manager Brian Epstein. Shocked and visibly shaken by the loss of such an influential figure in their lives, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr address reporters with heavy hearts before departing from Wales.
