Helping hand for Tinker the squirrel. Cradled in the plam of a friendly hand

Helping hand for Tinker the squirrel. Cradled in the plam of a friendly hand, an orphan sleeps peacefully. Tinker, the baby squirrel, wasn t wanted by his mother. She threw him out of the nest. And he would have died if it hadn t been for the children of Theobalds Park School. One of them found three-week-old Tinker and took him to nature-study teacher Edward Easter. Since then, the children of the school - near Cheshunt, Herts - have been giving orphan Tinker a helping hand. Every hour, Tinker is fed through an eye-dropper. And his diet of eggs, milk and bred seems to be just the thing for unwanted baby squirrels. In the past few days, Tinker has been so frisky that he snatches the eye-dropper - and tries to feed himself. If only his mother could see him now. May 1967 P000740

Helping Hand for Tinker the Squirrel - A Heartwarming Tale of Compassion and Care

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this touching photo print, we witness a heartwarming scene as a tiny orphaned squirrel named Tinker finds solace in the gentle cradle of a friendly hand. Cast away by his own mother, Tinker's fate seemed bleak until fate intervened through the kind-hearted children of Theobalds Park School. Discovered by one of these compassionate youngsters, three-week-old Tinker was promptly brought to nature-study teacher Edward Easter. Since then, the students have rallied together to provide unwavering support for their newfound furry friend. Every hour, they delicately feed little Tinker with an eye-dropper filled with a nourishing blend of eggs, milk, and bread - just what he needs to thrive. Remarkably, in recent days, this once fragile creature has grown so lively that he attempts to feed himself by snatching at the eye-dropper. It is truly remarkable how love and care can transform even the most vulnerable beings. As we gaze upon this snapshot from May 1967 captured by Mirrorpix on Memory Lane Prints, let us be reminded of the power within each individual to make a difference in another's life. Through empathy and selflessness like that displayed by these young students near Cheshunt in Herts. , we can offer hope and salvation when it is needed most – proving that sometimes all it takes is a helping hand to change someone's
