A year ago millions of skateboards were being ridden round the streets

A year ago millions of skateboards were being ridden round the streets and parks of Britain. Today they are dead. But Peter Stanway and his son, Alistair, 11, have come up with an ingenious and exciting answer to the skateboard junk-pile. They re pioneering a new sport -- featuring the skate-car. Cars built from old skateboard parts by the Stanways and other enthusiasts from Cheshire, were at Brand Hatch motor-racing circuit in Kent, recently, for the first-ever skate-car trials.
