This striking photograph captures William Nicholas Keogh (1826-1897), an influential Irish politician and Attorney-General during the late Victorian era. During his tenure as Attorney-General, he played a significant role in shaping Irish legal and political history. One of Keogh's most notable achievements was his successful prosecution of the Fenian leaders in the Irish Revolutionary Brotherhood Trials of 1865. These trials marked a turning point in the struggle for Irish independence and helped to quell the violent uprisings that had been plaguing the country.
