The T-39N Sabreliner is a twin-engine, supersonic transport trainer aircraft, which was one of sixteen purchased by the US Navy in the early 1990s. In May 2002, this very aircraft was involved in a tragic mid-air collision over the Gulf of Mexico, resulting in the loss of all seven lives on board both aircraft. The North American Sabreliner, a versatile and high-performance aircraft, was originally designed for commercial use but was later adopted by the military for advanced training purposes. This image captures the Sabreliner in its military livery, showcasing its distinctive shape and sleek design. Despite its impressive capabilities, this unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the inherent risks involved in aviation.
