Donkey Skin Fairy Sewing Tailors Tale

EDITORS COMMENTS
Once upon a time in a far-off kingdom, there lived a beautiful princess named Donkey-Skin. Known for her exquisite taste and impeccable fashion sense, she was admired by all. However, the princess had a wicked stepmother who coveted her beauty and wealth. Desperate to get rid of her stepdaughter, the wicked queen ordered her three tailors to sew a magical dress for the princess, using the hide of a donkey for the fabric. The tailors, who were loyal to the princess, could not bear to carry out such a cruel task. Instead, they secretly made her a beautiful gown from the finest silk and presented it to her as a gift. The cunning queen, however, discovered the deception and demanded that the princess wear the donkey-skin dress in front of the entire kingdom. Humiliated and heartbroken, the princess fled her home and lived in the forest, disguised as a beggar. There, she met a kind and handsome prince who fell in love with her, not knowing she was the princess he had long admired. They married and lived happily ever after. This enchanting illustration captures the moment when the tailors present the beautiful silk gown to the princess, shielding her from the wicked queen's cruel intentions. The intricate details of the dress, the warm colors, and the tender expressions on the faces of the tailors all add to the fairy tale's magical atmosphere. The illustration is from Playhour, a children's magazine published in 1958, and showcases the timeless beauty and charm of classic fairy tales.
