Sir Guy Carleton, 1st Baron Dorchester (1724-1808), was a distinguished military commander and administrator of the British Empire during the late 18th century. Born in Ireland, Carleton rose through the ranks of the British Army, serving in the Seven Years' War and the American Revolution.
