Step back in time with this etching of Old Gateway, an entrance to what was most likely a courtyard area, dating back to circa 1920. The image showcases an intricately decorated gateway, with crumbled, square-topped archways framing the entrance. Above the doors, a decorative plaque bears the weathered visage of a noble head, adding an air of grandeur and history. To one side, a quaint Tudor-style house stands proudly, its timber-framed walls and thatched roof a testament to the past. A horseman, clad in riding gear, waits patiently at the entrance, his steed poised and ready to pass through. The scene is bathed in soft, muted colors, adding to the sense of tranquility and nostalgia. This evocative etching was originally published in a December issue of a magazine, Volume 13, and was created by the talented artists of the March of the Women Collection.
