1987: A De Havilland DH.112 Venom FB.50, registration G-GONE / J-1542 (msn 752), formerly of the Swiss Air Force, graces the skies above RAF Fairford during the Royal International Air Tattoo on 18 July 1987. The Venom, a versatile British-designed aircraft, was initially produced for the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a day and night fighter, and later adapted for various roles including ground attack and reconnaissance. This particular Venom, with its distinctive red and white Swiss cross markings, had served in the Swiss Air Force from 1960 until its retirement in 1986.
