In the evening trams go back to the yard at ten oclock and are still coming in at eleven, the stableman promptly takes the horses and cleaning can begin, the washers vigorously sweep the dirt and dead tickets from inside, it is nearly five oclock before the last tram is washed but it is still not finished the windows have to be cleaned and the brass work polished.
