Mr. Jean Louis Alexandre Baudot (1834-1911), delegate of the Society of Combatants of Gravelotte and the Army of the Rhine, at the Commemorative Ceremony on August 16 at Mars-la-Tour. Veteran bugler at the taking of Malakoff 1855 (Crimea) and Ladonchamps, October 7, 1870 (near Metz) - Franco-German War of 1870-1. Baudot, entered the military service as a volunteer in the 1st regiment of Zouaves in 1852, as a bugler, took part in all campaigns of the Second Empire including the seat of Sevastopol in Crimea. Sounded the charge to Malakoffs assault (1855) which earned him to be known as the " Malakoff Historical Clarion". Date: 1901

This photograph captures Jean Louis Alexandre Baudot, a distinguished French veteran and historical figure, during a commemorative ceremony held at Mars-la-Tour on August 16, 1901. Baudot, born in 1834, served as a delegate of the Society of Combatants of Gravelotte and the Army of the Rhine. He gained renown as the "Malakoff Historical Clarion" for his role as a bugler during the assault on Malakoff in the Crimean War of 1855. The image shows Baudot proudly wearing his military top hat and adorned with numerous medals, including those earned during the Battle of Malakoff and the Battle of Ladonchamps near Metz during the Franco-German War of 1870-1. The French veteran entered military service as a volunteer in the 1st regiment of Zouaves in 1852 and took part in all campaigns of the Second Empire, including the siege of Sevastopol in Crimea.
