This exquisite handcoloured copperplate engraving, created by Andrea Bernieri from Giulio Ferrario's Ancient and Modern Costumes of all the Peoples of the World, published in Florence, Italy in 1843, depicts the grand wedding celebration of King Massinissa of Numidia and Sophonisba of Carthage.
