EDITORS COMMENTS
The Snipe Inn, located in the heart of Brighton, Sussex, is a historic public house that has been a beloved staple of the Kemp Town community for many years. The photograph captures the pub's facade in all its glory, with its distinctive red brick exterior and ornate detailing. The Snipe Inn was once a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent beer, and a rich history. Originally established as a brewery company limited, the Snipe Inn has been a fixture in Brighton's pub scene for decades. The pub's name, "Snipe," is believed to have originated from the local tradition of hunting snipe birds in the area. As of July 2018, the Snipe Inn, now a Sainsbury's Local, continues to serve the community in a new capacity. While the exterior remains largely unchanged, the interior has been transformed to accommodate the new supermarket format. The transformation may have altered the pub's purpose, but its historic character and significance to the community endures. The Snipe Inn, Brighton, Sussex BN1 8LE, remains an essential piece of Brighton's history and a reminder of the area's rich past. This photograph offers a glimpse into the past, capturing the essence of a beloved local pub that continues to be a source of pride and nostalgia for the community.
