The Lion & Key was originally part of the Charrington and Company Limited brewery, a prominent name in the British beer industry during the early 20th century. By 1919, the pub had become a Free House under the ownership of Labatts, later passing to Enterprise between 1996 and 2010. During this period, it was known as House-Hot House Bar. However, in more recent times, the Lion & Key has been lovingly refurbished and returned to its original name, once again serving the community as a cherished local watering hole. The Lion & Key's history is deeply rooted in the fabric of Leyton, a vibrant and diverse area of London.
