During the 1870s, 1880s, and 1890s, Oudinot rose through the ranks, becoming a prominent figure in the French military. His service during the 19th century was marked by significant events, including the French intervention in Mexico and the Crimean War. In 1852, he was made a duke and given the title Duc de Reggio.
