This stunning chromolithograph depicts a hybrid Anthurium flower, specifically a cross between Anthurium lindenianum and Anthurium andraeanum, commonly known as Anthurium x desmetianum or the Flamingo Anthurium. The illustration was drawn and chromolithographed by the renowned Belgian botanical artist Pieter de Pannemaeker, based on the horticultural drawings of Jean Linden in Brussels, Belgium, in 1888. Anthuriums are native to tropical regions of Central and South America, and their vibrant, waxy flowers have long been a source of fascination for botanists and collectors alike. The Flamingo Anthurium is particularly prized for its unique, flamboyant coloration.
