The Bulls-eye fish, also known as the Bullseye Goodeid or the Pomatomo telescopio, is a small, round fish with a distinctive circular marking on its side, resembling a bullseye target. The Striped Red Mullet, or Triglia in Italian, is a popular edible fish characterized by its vibrant red color and striking vertical stripes. The illustration was drawn and directed by the renowned French botanical illustrator Pierre Jean-Francois Turpin (1775-1840), who is considered one of the greatest botanical illustrators of the 19th century.
