This evocative photograph captures the Monument to Otto von Bismarck, a grand tribute to the German chancellor and politician who played a pivotal role in the unification of Germany in the late 19th century. The monument, located in the heart of Dar-es-Salaam, the largest city in German East Africa (now Tanzania), was erected around 1910 as a symbol of German colonial power and influence in Africa.
