Born in the small town of Jajinci, near Banja Luka, Mrazovic was a trailblazer for women's education and empowerment in a region where opportunities for women were limited. Upon her return to Bosnia, Mrazovic began writing for various newspapers and magazines, becoming one of the first female journalists in the region. In 1899, she published her most famous work, "Selam; or Sketches and Tales of Bosnian Life," a collection of short stories and essays that brought the voices and stories of ordinary Bosnians to a wider audience.
