The image depicts a German Siemens-Schuckert R7 bomber, a rare and formidable aircraft of its time, stationed on the Eastern Front at Vilna, Lithuania, in February-March 1917. The Siemens-Schuckert R7, also known as the Riesenflugzeug or "giant aircraft," was a two-engine, two-seat, long-range bomber that made its debut in 1916.
