Pyramid G1-b, also known as the Subsidiary Pyramid of Giza East Field or the Pyramid of Queen Meritites I or Queen Noubet, stands proudly to the east of the Great Pyramid of Giza, or Pyramid of Khufu, in the Giza Necropolis of Egypt. Dating back to the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around the 26th century BC, this architectural marvel is a testament to the ancient Egyptians' engineering prowess and their deep connection with mathematics and geometry. The pyramid, made primarily of limestone, is believed to have been built as a burial place for either Queen Meritites I or Queen Noubet, consorts of Pharaoh Khufu. The pyramid's casing, now mostly eroded, was once covered in smooth white limestone, giving it a gleaming appearance. The pyramid's design follows the traditional pyramid shape, with each side measuring around 65 meters. The base of the pyramid covers an area of approximately 11,500 square meters. The pyramid's internal structure is made up of narrow, descending corridors and chambers, leading to the burial chamber at the very core. The Great Pyramid of Giza, visible in the background, is the most famous and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex. It was built for Pharaoh Khufu and is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids. The desert landscape surrounding the pyramids, with its golden sand and rolling dunes, adds to the mystical allure of this ancient archeological site. The presence of a camel in the foreground of the photo adds a sense of scale and highlights the vastness of the area.
