The image, taken in 1920, shows Caillaux standing before the president of the Haute Cour de Justice in the Palais du Luxembourg, responding to interrogation. To his left, Vincent de Moro-Giafferi and Demange, two of his defense lawyers, are seated. Caillaux, a prominent French politician and journalist, was accused of defeatism and attempting to undermine the war effort through his articles during the early stages of the war.
