EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the iconic Amelia Earhart in 1928, with an additional image from 1935. Known as an American aviation pioneer and author, Earhart made history by becoming the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Although she did not pilot the aircraft on her initial transatlantic flight in 1928, she played a crucial role by meticulously keeping the flight log alongside Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon. Earhart's determination and passion for flying led her to achieve even greater feats. In 1932, she embarked on a solo journey from Newfoundland, Canada to Culmore in Northern Ireland, completing it in an astonishing time of just 14 hours and 56 minutes. This remarkable accomplishment solidified her status as one of the most influential aviators of her time. The print is sourced from "The Silver Jubilee Book - The Story of 25 Eventful Years in Pictures" published by Odhams Press Ltd. in London back in 1935. It showcases Earhart's portrait along with various other significant moments throughout her career. Amelia Earhart remains an inspiration for women around the world who aspire to break barriers and pursue their dreams fearlessly. Her legacy lives on as a symbol of courage, determination, and unwavering spirit that continues to inspire generations beyond her own era.
