The zosteropidae family, also known as white-eyes, encompasses a diverse range of bird species found in various regions around the world. One such species is the Taiwan yuhina (Yuhina brunneiceps), which can be seen perched delicately amongst pink blossoms in Taiwan. These endemic birds bring a touch of beauty to their surroundings, with two yuhinas often seen together amidst vibrant flowers. Another member of the zosteropidae family is the silvereye tauhou and bellbird korimako. These charming birds can be found in New Zealand's Atherton Tableland, perching gracefully on twigs and adding their melodious songs to the Great Dividing Range. In the Solomon Islands, we encounter the bare-eyed white-eye (Woodfordia superciliosa). This adult bird showcases its striking features while perched on leaf stems on Rennell Island during April. A side view of a broad-ringed white-eye (Zosterops poliogaster) reveals its unique characteristics as it pecks at yellow buds from a branch. Its tapering wings and large white eye ring make for an intriguing sight. Moving back to New Zealand, we find silvereyes once again gracing our presence. With November being their prime time, these adults perch elegantly in flowering trees across the country. Not forgetting South Africa's contribution to this avian family, we have Cape White-eyes enjoying a refreshing drink at a birdbath in Grahamstown. Their presence throughout eastern and southern parts of South Africa adds color and life to this region. Lastly, silvereyes are spotted feeding on jam at restaurant tables in Margaret River, Western Australia. Their adaptability allows them to thrive both in southwestern Australia and eastern parts of this vast country.
