In 1983, riding a Yamaha, Wattie made waves at the Junior Manx Grand Prix. His electrifying performance earned him recognition as one to watch in the racing scene. This was just the beginning of his illustrious journey. Over the years, Wattie continued to impress with remarkable victories and podium finishes. In 1990, astride a Suzuki machine, he conquered the challenging Senior Manx Grand Prix course with finesse and precision. The crowd roared as he crossed that finish line. His achievements were not limited to single races; Wattie also excelled in classic events such as the Classic TT and Pre TT Classic races. Riding Norton motorcycles in both 2009 and 2016 editions of these iconic competitions showcased his versatility as a rider. The Honda Formula One TT race held in 1995 witnessed another triumph for this extraordinary racer. With sheer speed and impeccable control on display throughout every lap, Wattie secured yet another victory for himself. Not only did he excel individually but also proved his prowess when teamed up with Mike Roscher & Gregory Cluze on an LCR Suzuki sidecar during the thrilling Sidecar TT event in 2010. Their collaboration resulted in an unforgettable performance that left spectators awestruck. Even after all these accomplishments, Wattie's hunger for success remained insatiable. He returned to conquer more challenges at multiple Junior Post Classic Manx Grand Prix races between 2010-2011 aboard Yamaha machines - proving that age is no barrier when it comes to passion and skill.
